AAROHAN PROJECT

'Aarohan' is dedicated to institutional development, skill training and the generation of economic activity through a public-private partnership in rural Bengal. The National Skill Development Corporation of India (NSDC) is sponsoring this preliminary effort of the Foundation into the area of skill development. The project proposes to train 1, 50, 000 youth over a period of 10 years from across the districts of Purulia, Birbhum, Jalpaiguri, Dakshin Dinajpur, Murshidabad and South 24 Parganas. Aarohan focuses on the establishment of vocational training infrastructure for the rural youth, the formation of self-reliant and inclusive community institutions to enable enhanced social and economic empowerment and generate income through the engagement of the service sector.
