The Global India Foundation launched the International Affairs Watch (IAW) on May 9, 2012 at the Bengal Club, Kolkata. IAW was formally released by Prof. Samir Kumar Das (Vice-Chancellor, North Bengal University), Prof. Abhirup Sarkar (Economic Research Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata), Dr. Sreeradha Datta (Director, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies, Kolkata), Admiral P.J. Jacob (Chairman, Global India Foundation) Prof. Omprakash Mishra (Member Secretary, Global India Foundation) and Sayantani Sen (Editor, International Affairs Watch) amidst the august presence of senior academics, journalists, professionals and scholars.Ms. Sylvia Mishra (Editor, International Affairs Watch) proposed a Vote of Thanks.

IAW marks the Foundation’s foray into the realm of regular writing and publication. It is designed as a quarterly publication, intended to cover a gamut of contemporary issues from over fifty countries, chosen in terms of their strategic significance for India.

While espousing the Foundation’s stated purpose of dissemination of knowledge, International Affairs Watch (IAW) encourages a genre of conscious reading and informed writing.
