Prof. Omprakash Mishra is the Member Secretary of the Foundation. Professor of International Relations at Jadavpur University, Kolkata and former Pro Vice Chancellor, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi(2007-2010). He was Head of the Department of International Relations in Jadavpur University (1994-1996) and is the Founder-Coordinator of the Centre for Refugee Studies.

Prof. Mishra has been a consultant to many reputed international research institutes and organisations and has served various academic committees and played important role in curriculum development and course structuring. He has extensively lectured in Universities and research institutes in India and abroad and has many research publications to his credit. He is a regular commentator on current political and international affairs in print and electronic media in the country and abroad.

He was Member, National Security Advisory Board in 2004-2006. In November 2005, the University Grants Commission invited him to Chair an Expert Committee on Universities and Public Policy.

Prof. Mishra’s interest and expertise straddles many issue areas in international relations, foreign policy and national security. He serves in different capacities various committees, expert group and is regularly consulted on policy and governance issues by a number of government departments, academic and research institutes and non-governmental organisations across the country.
